My Son’s New Wife Loudly Told My Grandkids They Were ‘Ruining the Aesthetic’ of Her House – Then Karma Stepped In

Priya, a tall woman wearing a cream jumpsuit, glanced toward the children before quickly looking away.

Chloe crossed the room in three quick steps.

Before Theo could pull his creation away, Chloe took the ship from his hand.

“Hey,” Theo said, his voice small. “I was just showing Grandma.”

“I don’t care,” Chloe snapped loudly. “You two need to take this plastic junk upstairs right now. You are completely ruining the aesthetic of my house.”

As she moved toward the Lego tub, her heel caught Ivy’s launchpad, sending the little red boosters scattering across the white floor.

Ivy immediately knelt to collect them.

“Chloe, careful.”

“I’m tired of stepping over this stuff,” she snapped. She dropped Theo’s ship into the tub. “You have a whole playroom upstairs. TAKE IT THERE. NOW.”

“But Grandma was looking at it,” Theo whispered.

“And Grandma can look at it upstairs.”

Nearby conversations began fading.

Theo stared silently at his ship.

Ivy didn’t protest. She rarely did anymore.

Instead, she put an arm around her brother and began gathering the scattered pieces.

“Come on,” Ivy whispered. “We’ll finish it upstairs.”

“Chloe,” I said calmly. “Give him back the ship.”

“Marlene, please.” She rolled her eyes toward her friends. “You always take their side. They have a whole playroom.”

“He was showing me something he built.”

“And I’m asking them to build somewhere else. In my house. Is that so unreasonable?”

I looked from Theo to Ivy.
