My 8-Year-Old Nephew Refused to Leave His Mother’s Casket—Then It Started Vibrating, Revealing the Secret She Died Protecting

“Elena…”

“You were holding Rebecca’s phone.”

Omar looked away.

“You told me she was dead.”

Elena’s voice cracked.

“But she wasn’t.”

Nobody moved.

“She was still breathing.”

My mother gasped.

I felt sick.

“What?”

Elena looked at me.

“Rebecca was alive when Omar called me.”

Omar whispered:

“No.”

“She was unconscious, but alive.”

“What happened?”

Elena continued.

“I wanted to call an ambulance.”

Omar stopped me.”

I looked at him.

“Why?”

He shook his head.

“I was scared.”

“Of what?”

“They would kill Emiliano.”

I stared at him.

“You let my sister die because they threatened your son?”

Omar began crying.

“I thought I could fix it.”

“You watched her die.”

“I didn’t know what else to do.”

Elena’s voice became cold.

“You called Daniel.”

Daniel didn’t deny it.

“And he told you what to do.”

Omar covered his face.

“He said if Rebecca survived, everyone would be arrested.”

I stepped toward him.

“And you believed him.”

“I was afraid.”

“You were afraid?”

My voice broke.

“My sister was lying on the floor fighting for her life.”

He couldn’t look at me.

“And you were afraid.”

Omar whispered:

“Yes.”

I wanted to hate him.

Part of me did.

But then I remembered something Rebecca had said.

He helped them.

But he didn’t give the order.

I looked at Daniel.

“You did.”

Daniel stared back.

“You ordered Rebecca’s death.”

He didn’t answer.

That was enough.

Outside, sirens suddenly screamed in the distance.

Daniel’s face changed.

“How?”

I looked at the laptop.

The video files.

The messages.

The evidence.

I smiled.

“You made one mistake.”

“What?”

“You thought I was still playing your game.”

I held up my phone.

“I sent everything to someone before we left.”

Daniel looked at Elena.

“Who?”

She smiled through her tears.

“Someone you can’t buy.”

The sirens grew louder.

Police cars appeared outside.

Daniel immediately turned toward the back door.

But Elena blocked him.

“It’s over.”

Daniel lunged.

The gun went off.

The sound shattered the house.

Everyone screamed.

I grabbed Emiliano and dropped to the floor.

When I looked up, Daniel was on his knees.

Blood stained his sleeve.

Elena stood frozen.

She had not fired.

A police officer had shot Daniel in the shoulder from the doorway.

“Drop the weapon!”

Daniel slowly released it.

Officers rushed inside.

They handcuffed him.

Then Omar.

Elena surrendered without resistance.

My mother sat on the floor crying.

And for the first time in two days, I could finally breathe.

But there was still one thing left.
